Although the premiere is not until July, work on Medea has already begun. Director Teodor Ilievski held the first read-throughs with the cast, and the audition for the chorus of twelve actresses attracted candidates from across the country.

'The Antique Theatre isn't scenery, it's a partner,' says Ilievski. 'That's why in the final month we will rehearse at night, on the stage itself, to learn its acoustics and its light.'

The music for the production is being created alongside the rehearsals and will be performed live.
